Challenge & perspective
The main challenge on this project was to adapt the 3D koi fish to the highly illustrative style of Valentin Nouvel, the art director. After a few trials, we used a mix of watercolor textures and digital paints. Then it all came down to a sort of experimental compositing recipe to tie it all in with the image.
Following this project, we continued discussions with Valentin to come up with new ideas combining Chillout’s 3D work with Valentin’s motion design and art direction for our future clients.
